Regulatory Action: In 2022, the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) guided lenders to assess their AI systems, ensuring no unintended discrimination against marginalized groups occurs. This was crucial as studies show that nearly 30% of applicants from minority backgrounds report facing bias in traditional lending practices.


2. Human-Centered Values and Fairness


In banking and fintech, it is vital that AI systems respect human rights and dignity. This means designing AI tools that are fair and transparent, reducing biases that may result in discrimination.
